[The village is unusually crowded today, and it's making Richard a bit uncomfortable. Too many people - some of them downright bizarre - and too much noise has led him to seek some solitude up beneath Ammy's cherry trees on the north side of the village, where he'll just sit quietly, watching the light snow fall.

Of course, this doesn't mean he can't be bothered, either by newcomers or by friends. He'll be returning home later in the evening, anyway, though he'll be making a stop at Good Spirits once it gets dark in search of a little relaxation first. He can be found in any of these places throughout the day, so go nuts!]

[Unfortunately, Richard isn't thinking fast enough to be able to catch it, meaning that it hits him smack in the side of the head as he's turning around to see who is speaking to him.

[ ... WHOOPS my bad i guess you have really slow reflexes. peony feels bad but he laughs anyway, dusting snow off of his hands. ]

Yes, I'm fine. I'm sorry; I'm not much competition in a snowball fight.

[Fortunately he doesn't look too bothered by it! He's just going to brush that snow out of his hair.]

[ THAT'S GOD he was afraid that this prissy looking pretty boy might get pissed. who knew! ]

That's too bad, I could probably give you a few pointers.

[Nope, fortunately Richard is about as far from prissy as they come.]

I take it you have considerable experience in them, then?

Enough, yeah. Where I grew up, there was snow on the ground year round.

[There is a kid wandering around near the trees as well! Although whether or not he's here intentionally is probably another story, but nonetheless he will make the best of this opportunity to shout as loud as he can in an attempt to find his friends!]

Sophie! Richard! Oiiiiii, where are you!

[It's hard to miss that shouting, especially from a familiar voice, so Richard will just be turning his head in that direction and...

... Asbel, you shrunk.]

Yeah, that's me- [Wait a minute. This person looks familiar. Squuuuuint.]

Ah, Richard!? [Everyone is bigger than him. Why is everyone bigger than him!?]

That's right. This is what I'll look like when I'm grown up.

[He can't help but smile at Asbel's surprise, because it really is adorable.]

[Once the initial surprise (and mild indignation about the height issue) has worn off, Asbel examines his friend a little more closely, and he has to admit-]

Whoa, you look pretty cool, Richard!

[At that, Richard laughs.]

Do you think so? You look rather cool as well when you get older, you know.

Really?

[Asbel thinks back to the times he saw his future self.

But I thought I looked like Father! ...And I get amnesia.

I don't know anything about the amnesia, but I think you grow up to look far more handsome than your father.
